Hello people!! Hope everyone had an amazing weekend. I too like to think that I had a good one. I am back with some updates regarding the progress of my project. Before moving forward with that I would like to tell my new followers, what I have been working on. I’ve been trying to bridge the gap between the designers of the built environment and sustainability. Check out my previous posts for a better understanding.
So, last week I met this amazing lady who happens to be a professor for architecture, historic preservation, sustainability and urban design in my college. Her name is Elaine Adams. She also is the sustainability director at LS3P Associates LTD. We had a nice one hour chat at a coffee house near our college building. Being a professor at SCAD and a director of the sustainability department at the same time, she enlightened me with a lot of insights about this field in practice.

We spoke about how only one aspect of sustainability has been active when it comes to its application and execution. It really made me ask this question; why is it that whenever we speak about sustainability, people only think about benefiting the environment. What happened to the understanding of the TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE? I strongly feel the reason that we are not experiencing the true impact of sustainability is that we don’t see the three foundation aspects ( Social, Economical and Environmental) of this concept as one. And this may be because we don’t understand the Golden Circle.

I too came to know about this when the professor asked me to watch this TED Talk by Simon Sinek about 'How great leaders inspire action'. He speaks about why only certain people are able to achieve the desired success. It’s a very scientific concept that he has portrayed in a very simple language. Well, I am trying to apply that to my project now. Let’s see that goes.
That is all for now. I’ll see y’all soon. Good luck for the next week!!
